student goals


I would like to explore the following things:

  • waveform shape & the creation of sound from additive & subtractive oscillators, as well as how those values can be side-chained to automate effects

  • entropic and interactive methods of creating music (randomness!)

  • perception of sound taking advantage of HRTF methods in both headphones and actual acoustic space

  • groove; and all of its nuances (math-rock, anyone?)

  • augmenting the sounds of acoustic instruments to create a specific timbre that affects its perception and mood

With the following goals in mind:

  • to play upon common customs of sound and honing in on their effects to further understand the composition pedagogy

  • exploring a less is more mentality in mixing & sound design

  • integrating field recording into my arsenal & staying poignant to the everyday soundscape
