6. Music Video (Multi- or Split- Screen)

Using the music input for the Notation project, create a multi- or split-screen music video.

Requirements

Create a multi- or spit- screen music video (one piece of music seamless throughout) using the music from your Notation project. Edit your recordings using DaVinci Resolve. You may perform on someone else's project, but everyone must record and edit completely separate projects.

The goal here is to capture image and sound at the highest quality possible

  • You must use a good camera (your own DSLR or mirrorless camera or Baylor's Sony a6400)

    • checkout our Sony a6400 (we have 3) from our Graduate Assistant (contact info coming soon)

    • checkout a Lumix from the library's Media Lab (make sure you get a lens, memory card, tripod, battery, etc. too) = https://hdplus.libcal.com/equipment/item/33703

  • You must use good microphones (better than the built in mics on the Zoom)

    • checkout a Zoom and our Rode M5 stereo pair with stereo bar and mic stand from our Graduate Assistant (contact info coming soon)

Where to turn in = upload to YouTube then embed in your class projects portfolio website

Think ahead!

How can you get all recordings to align perfectly later? ... there are many ways, here are two:

  1. use a metronome in your ear

  2. listen to the first part you record in headphones as you record the second part ... and so on.
